The Hunter Valley Gardens is an amazing place to take the family, so much to do and will give your kids the chance to race around and get their energy out. We have been several times and had such a great time. Read about our adventures:

What is the Mega Creatures and Mega Creatures Night Safari?

This April, Hunter Valley Gardens invites visitors to roam among dinosaurs and create special memories at Mega Creatures and Mega Creatures Night Safari. Open from Saturday 1st until Sunday 30th April 2023, this fantastic day out is just a short two-hour drive from Sydney. Visitors of all ages will enjoy rides, Easter Egg Hunts, interactive fossil digs, and giant animatronic animals that will create unforgettable moments for the whole family.

The life-sized mega creatures, including Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, and more, will have guests feeling like they have stepped back in time to Dino Land. In the Dragons Den, visitors can let their imagination take flight with mythical beasts that even breathe fire. Meanwhile, the Amphitheatre has been taken over by flying creatures from a land before time. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for stomping dinosaurs that wander through the Gardens, which will be sure to impress kids, no matter what age.

Mega Creatures Night Safari

As the sun sets at Hunter Valley Gardens, the pre-historic creatures will come alive with speciality lighting displays for the Mega Creatures Night Safari. Beware, predators are hunting their prey around the frog ponds and Hunter Valley Gardens’ collection of snakes and lizards will be on display on Reptile Road.
In the Boneyard, budding archaeologists can discover mythical creature facts, figures, and hidden fossils. My little boy loved digging for dinosaur bones and he also enjoyed the dinosaurs and creatures at night. One of the highlights was that he could be surprised at how they looked during the night with the help of lights and smoke.

My two boys (6 & 9) would love a mega adventure these holidays! They recently took an interest in the 2015 Woolworths collector set – ‘Ancient Animals’ that I collected for them when they were babies. They have done their research and have energy to burn!

My children love dinosaurs, we have 1000 that roam the house. Our dinosaurs are used to protect the kids from bad dreams and make them feel safe. My dino obsessed 7 year old has her wardrobe full of dino clothes and when we went on holidays recently she made me walk her around the caravan park in her dino costume (with mask). My children would love to go see the giant dinosaurs and their babies at HVG.

What a roarsome prize, my kids would love it! They’d be able to name every dinosaur and pronounce them perfectly. Me on the other hand, no chance.

    If dinosaurs were alive
    In this day and age
I swear they’d be on Insta
    It’s really quite the rage.

My son would flick through the photos
    On every single day
And it would make him happy
    In every dinosaur way.

    In beautiful garden surrounds
It’s to Mega Creatures we go
Leading the charge is my son
With parents and siblings in tow.
