I always thought adding wallpaper to your walls was super hard.
That you had to have special skills or qualifications to add it to your walls.
I had no idea that it was so easy to add wallpaper to a room and in turn that it is really simple to easily transform your space.
Wallpaper nowadays comes in so many different patterns, images as well and of course traditional flower and geometric shapes too. You can even upload your own image to create a unique one of a kind wallpaper. Some of the wallpaper is better described as wall murals or artwork as it is more like images stuck to the wall, but as wallpaper.
Where do you get this amazing wallpaper from?
Photowall is where I purchased my wallpaper and they have so many amazing designs to choose from. I got lost in the possibilities and the wonder of what each would look like in my house. I am now tempted to put wallpaper in all my rooms now!
If you need inspiration, Photowall has plenty to give you. Just check out all the different collections, suggestions on what is popular and other ideas from the Photowall website.
Does Photowall just sell wallpaper?
Photowall also has prints and canvases as well. You can purchase the prints on their own or get them with a frame as well, or add your own image to a print or canvas.
If you are looking for a gift Photowall has prints that you can get framed and also wallpaper to instantly transform your space super quick.
Smoothing out the joins with the seam roller – We found this tool really handy and it works so much better than your hands
Except for our own level, the picture shows all items that you get in the Wallpaper Kit
Make sure you get the Wallpaper Kit
Make sure that you add the wallpaper kit when you purchase your wallpaper. It really helped us. However, the one item that we used that was ours was our own level (which is shown in yellow in the above image). The wallpaper kit comes with a level but ours was better for the job.
The kit comes with the following items:
A brush for applying glue, a seam roller for making the seams invisible, a paper hanging brush for smoothing the strips, a knife and cutting guide for trimming excess wallpaper, plus a spirit level, a pencil and a tape measure. It is only $26 but well worth every cent, it is a must-have to make the whole process easier.
Pergament Map – This stunning vintage world map is now on my girl’s bedroom wall. It has really changed the space for the better.
What did I order?
The map makes the room look so much more grown up now
We had to make sure that we could easily see Australia on the map
This wallpaper was for my office. I measured just one part of the wall to add interest in the room. Before it had the Dandelion Field Blue wallpaper it was just painted white. One end of my office has a blue wall, the other end has a blackboard and the rest is painted white. I thought due to the blue in the room and it being my favourite colour the Dandelion Field Blue wallpaper was a good choice. I did look at some very bright and colourful wallpaper but decided on a muted tone for my office. It has really changed the room and space and added more warmth and texture to a previously white and bright area. As a creative person it has also given me a different backdrop for photos and creating more content.
Each roll is numbered so that you know what part to put on at what time… super easy and helpful
Adding more glue to the sides and making sure it is all sitting right.
Dandelion Field Blue wallpaper all completed and looking fantastic
Getting ready to frame the Reading Circle Poster – The monster from Where the Wild Things Are reading to the characters in the book.
This poster made me laugh. It is the monster from the book, “Where the Wild Things Are” and the monster is reading “Where the Wild Things Are” to the kids in the story. I loved this book as a kid and it still has a special place in my heart and when I saw this poster, I had to had have it. I made sure to get the poster and a black frame to allow me to hang it right away in my office.
This poster is from an old company called the “Alexander Drug and Seed Co”, it is the cover of their Summer and Fall Catalogue 1899. I loved it due to the fact that I have a person called Alexander and that it is lovely vintage art. The company was from Augusta Georgia sold seeds by mail subscription.
This poster is from a company called the “Alexander Drug and Seed Co”, it is the company’s summer offer for 1898. It was for their Early Trucker Cabbage, Buncombe Cabbage and Mammoth Purple Globe Turnip”. I love the artwork and again as we have an Alexander I thought it was interesting. The company sells seeds by mail order and they are from Augusta Georgia.
What did I think of Photowall?
I was super impressed by the shopping experience on their website, the customer service and the quality of their products. Not to mention the quick delivery of all my goodies to my front door. I didn’t even have to leave the house, it got magically delivered to me and that is amazing as I am hours away from the capital city. If they can deliver to me they can deliver to anyone! I would recommend giving Photowall a go, I am sure you will love their products as much as I do. After you wallpaper one of your rooms you will catch the decorating bug and be planning what to do in other areas of your house.
Make sure if you have ordered prints with frames, the prints are not in the frame but sitting on top of them. If you rip the packaging open you might damage your print so be extra careful.
NOTE: This post is a collaboration with Photowall, they allowed me to pick my products and try them out to share with my readers. I loved it so much that I think you will be amazed at how easy it is to redo any room in your house.
A BIG thank you to Photowall for sending me the products to test out and to showcase on my website and also for the discount for my readers for December.

Now you are at the page where you can enter all your details and to create your very own star map.
You can select, poster, framed poster, or canvas. I got a poster and had to frame the poster myself.
The posters come in various sizes.
Enter your title, date and longitude and latitude for the stars to align to the right place.
To get the longitude and latitude just google it and you will get all the info you need.
Note – The dates default to American dates (10/31/2018). If you are located elsewhere and wish to have your date display differently this is not a problem. All you need to do is email Modern Map Art to tell them and they will ensure it will be displayed correctly. I need my dates to be displayed like this: 31/10/2018.
Pick a black, grey, navy or white background for your poster. Plus the colour of the text.
Choose a border or not.
You don’t have to have constellations but I think it makes it look fab so for me this was essential.
Once all done and you are happy with your poster and choices, order and pay.
If you are in the USA you get free postage.
If you live in Australia delivery is about 12-20 business days after printing.
My stunning and wonderful star map poster from Modern Map Art.
Why I LOVE my Star Map
It is something just for me.
It is unique.
Exact stars from where and when I was born.
I took a while to decide on what to get on my Star Map. I have 3 kids so I couldn’t just choose 1.
I wanted to have a star map of our new house but maps in this area don’t have enough detail.
My initial thought was to get something for the house or for others, and then I decided… I should do something for me.
My Star Map Poster is the area I was born in… Yep, a Star Map of Brisbane, Australia.
I picked the biggest size (24×36 inches) and it turned out to be rather difficult to find a frame to fit my fab personalised poster.
I finally found a great frame from Target for $15 and it fits perfectly.
Once my workshop or otherwise known as mummy’s office is complete it will be hung on the wall to inspire me.

This post was originally created for a Father’s Day tutorial. However this could be applied for Christmas gifts, birthdays and anything at all. Use it to create some great presents for Christmas.
I do have something organised for hubby for Father’s Day. However I thought it might be nice for the twins to do something creative for daddy themselves. I have had some friends do things with sharpie pens and I have always been curious. Online I saw that you can decorate a mug/cup with sharpie pens, then bake it and all good to use. How amazing and interesting. Will it work? The only way is to give it a go.
So I got the kids some sharpie pens from the shop and a white mug each and then each child had to decorate them. I told them that they can do whatever design they wished to. One child was very expressive and creative and wanted to colour the whole mug in and the other was trying to draw and write more on the mug. Interesting the difference. It did not matter what they created, it was an expression of them to their daddy.
What do you need?
1. Sharpie Pens. I purchased mine individually as this worked out a little cheaper. You can get a pack of 12 for about $20. Packs I saw for less varied between $14 or more.
2. A cup or a mug to decorate. I choose to have white mugs as then the colours from the pens will show up more
3. An oven to bake the mugs in
Concentrating on her creation for daddy.
What is the process?
1. Once you have all your materials ready you can then start.
2. Decorate your mugs
3. Finalise your decoration and once happy you are ready to bake in the oven.
4. Bake in the oven for 30mins at 180°C or 356°F
Once baked you are good to use the cup. Might need to wait a bit and hand wash carefully to make sure it is all clean to use. As I have never done this before I am keen to see how they go. I would not put in the dishwasher.
Happy creating and this is a great cheap last minute gift for Father’s Day. Have fun!
Finished mugs ready to be baked
Note: Some colours after it was baked have changed. The gold seems to have turned into brown. Maybe I need to get different sharpies next time.
I thought what could I make to be Christmas presents and decided on tea towels. Yes I am making tea towels as part of my Christmas gifts to family. I have made some and need to finish off quite a lot to be ready for next week. I really have my work cut out for me.
My finished products. Don’t they look good.
I loved this fabric as well. You could either make tea towels, a table cloth or an apron out of this material. Very much for the chef.
One of the fabrics I chose. I love it as it is different and great for a Christmas present..
So how do you make a tea towel. Well you need to do the following:
Pick material that is 100% cotton. I chose thicker cotton material that will wear well as a tea towel.
What size will you make them? Will they be larger or the average size for a tea towel?
If you have a favourite tea towel why not measure the size of that and base the pattern on this size. This way you will be happy with the size and also the fabric as well.
Make sure to have the right colour cotton thread to match as this makes it look better and not to see all the seams is nice. However if you are clever you can make a nice decoration with an alternate colour thread. It is up to you and depends on the look you are going for.
I purchased 3 metres of each fabric and that has given us 10 tea towels of each type. You might get more depending on the size you make them.
TIP:To get a neat edge, fold over a little edge all round and iron. Then fold over again. This way when you sew it all round you will not see the bits left or any part that might fray. As it is cotton material there is a tendency to fray. If it is folded over and sewn in then this will not happen. Also it looks like a better professional finish
So a tea towel is just a piece of material that is neatly sewn all around. You can make them fancy by adding patches, fabric stamping and the like. If you have a tag to add you can add that as well so everyone knows you made it.
I am now thinking of making more and getting more creative with them. They are fun and easy to produce. Maybe I could be the tea towel queen if I ever get really good at it. Look out I might be at your local markets soon with a supply of home made tea towels.
So now I need to get serious and get onto to finishing my batch that I need for Christmas. I have also been cleaning the house, entertaining kids and now they are on holidays! Lets hope that my plans go well. They of course have not had a great start today as I have not stopped sneezing and feel like I am very sick currently.
I need to power on and make more tea towels as hubby would not be pleased with me if he came to find all material not created into towels for the kitchen. So in the next days until Christmas I will be busy working away in my hidden workshop, otherwise known as the dining room (I don’t have a dedicated room for sewing or craft) working away to complete the job.
What have you made or are making for Christmas presents? Send in your comments.
