While on holiday at the Gold Coast hubby took the twins to SUPERBEE HONEYWORLD at CURRUMBIN. This kept the girls occupied on one of the days I was at Problogger. During the trip there, hubby and the girls learned about how bees make honey and the powers that bee pollen possess.
Before we got on our plane home hubby wanted to purchase some more honey and give the bee pollen a go. You can purchase granules like the one in the below photo or you can have them in capsules. A man at the shop recommended we grind it with a pestle and mortar to make it a fine dust, then mix it into your cereal in the morning. This way you don’t notice it and it gives a nice honey taste. If you don’t grind it down to a fine dust, it is not that pleasant at all. So remember to do this and you can enjoy it and reap the rewards.

In one test, 32g of pollen daily taken for 2 weeks lowered the amount of sugar in 1 liter of urine by 41.8 g. Dr. Chauvia and Dr. Lenorm and say that pollen also contains an antibiotic similar to penicillin and is able to inhibit the development of some microorganisms such as Salmonella.”

We chose the granules over the capsules as we believed that it was a better purchase, but I can see the merit in getting capsules as all the hard work is done and you just have to take them. I have found that I have more energy, and not sure that it is due to the bee pollen but want to give it a good go.
