Liebster Award

Hi all, I have been very slack, actually extremely slack. I was nominated by two wonderful blogs for a Liebster Award. Erica from We Three Crabs and Declutterbug versus Captain Stingypants has also kindly nominated me as well. This was last year and I have not yet responded, and feel terrible it has taken me so long. So here is my reply to both posts from the lovely bloggers who have nominated me.

I would like to say a big thank you and appreciation to the lovely bloggers We Three Crabs and Declutterbug versus Captain Stingypants for nominating me and following my blog, it means a lot to me and I am grateful.

According to Erica’s post the rules are as follows:

“Bloggers award other bloggers who they deem as “up and coming” and have less than 200 followers. It’s a nice way to help other bloggers increase their visibility. If you receive a Liebster, you must tell 11 things about yourself, answer 11 questions posed by the nominating blogger, and nominate 11 new bloggers. Then you ask those bloggers 11 questions that they will answer. {Don’t forget to tell the new bloggers you have nominated them!}”

Answers and thoughts from Simon or otherwise known as Fast Lane Dad.

Hi Suzanne, thanks for asking me to participate it made me remember why I started so thank you.

    My answers are below.

Why are you blogging? – i wanted add comment from a dad’s perspective on parenting.

How are you growing your blog? – Through being honest, working hard at it and trying to be humorous. Not necessarily in that order!

Have you managed to earn any money from your blog yet? If so what were your techniques to do so? – Yes i have and it was through a work contact.

How do you organise your household to allow for me time? I find this difficult and I only have two kids. – Yes it is tough. I have learnt to convert the normal stuff into ‘Me’ time. Like, going to work, writing the blog, relaxing with FLMum when she get’s in and the very occasional bit of exercise. You have to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Where would you live if money was no problem and what type of house? – I would still live in our current house as we just love it and it’s great for the kids and their new schools.

Where would you go on your next holiday? – We will probably go camping somewhere with our trailer, probably north at this time of year!

What is the best holiday you enjoy, Easter, Christmas or something else? – I enjoy Easter as it gives us time with the boys while the weather is still good and we also get a visitor or 2 from the UK. Oh, and it’s my birthday too!

Do you enjoy school holidays or does it get annoying after a while. If so what are your tips to make it more enjoyable? – i believe that you have to enjoy them. They won’t last for ever and that’s where a lot of memories are created for the kids. So for me it’s important that you maximise the time and enjoy it while you can!

How do you fit in working as a parent of small children? Let us know your secrets. – Our boys are now 8,10 and 12 so it’s not so bad. They all take themselves to and from school mostly so that makes life a lot easier.

How has blogging changed your life and world? – I’m not sure it’s changed me although the family might argue! It has allowed me to express myself to a larger audience and also It has opened up a whole new ‘virtual’ world of friends that I never had before.

Do you have any tips for the new blogger? Any advice is greatly wanted and needed. – Be true and honest to yourself and to your reader and write about things you care about. If you like it you’ll enjoy writing about it.

    Cheers

    FLD
