Update: The concert was wonderful. The twins were so excited that Nana made it you could see their faces smile from the moon or further out in space. The girls did not get shy on stage but there were moments when they stopped to look at a person or something and did not sing at all.

The twins have been practicing for a concert at school. Songs have been sung at home, in the car and everywhere in between. The girls are so excited as they have told me that they will be on stage for the performance.

The concert is tomorrow and it is in honour of grandparent’s day. The school has opened their doors for visitors to look at the classrooms, be entertained with a concert in the hall and afterwards are putting on a morning tea.

I am going as I cannot wait to see my little entertainers up on stage. My mum the girl’s nana is lucky enough to attend and of course the kids are super excited about this.

Do you celebrate Grandparents Day? Does your school do anything special? I am excited just like the kids and will of course video it for hubby to see also. My little girls are such performers at home and I am sure they will be in their element on stage at school.

Cannot wait to let you know how the concert went. More tomorrow.

My Little Rock Stars

On way home from a great lunch with mates the kids were singing and have a great time. They stop singing when I video them so too the video without them knowing so I could grab the audio. Do your kids love to sing? Mine do.

Budding Artists

Do your kids love technology, mine do and seem to know how to use it instantly. Maybe this is a sign of the times or just good tools that are easy to use. We are lucky to have a tablet and the girls seem to understand how to use it. iPads and the likes of the Google Nexus are so easy to use, even a toddler can do it.

My girls lately have insisted that they want to make videos for their songs, and have told me and daddy that they want to be video musicians. Basically they want to have video clips of their songs. You have heard it here first. My kids have decided they want to be stars. Not sure if this will happen but you never know. I wanted to be on the record in case they become huge and popular artists. I know they are clever what ever they do, they don’t have to be a musician or a pop artist, they will be fine what ever they decide. So don’t think I am putting pressure on them to be a rock star.

Mind you if they get rich and make it as rock stars then they can care for their parents, well why not?  My iPhone has so many videos of the girls singing and pictures pulling funny faces. They both love taking pictures and being able to see what they have taken and the ability to turn the camera around to take pictures of themselves.

Little performers

Yesterday we spent the day with great aunty Jean and Grandma. We went shopping and had lunch out. I even was able to do some secret Easter shopping for the girls, although still need to get the eggs.

After shopping we all went back to Jean’s place to get ready for dinner and the exciting part was daddy was joining us as well. The girls were going all day since 7am so I was hoping that they might rest at this stage. This was not to be so. They ran around the house, and were creating games at every turn.  I was pleased that they were happy and would sleep well that night as we had a big day.

Dinner was lovely and one of daddy’s favourites; however it was not a hit with the girls. They pushed it away and said that it was yucky, and they did not want it. We explained that there was no other choice for dinner and this was it. If they were hungry they would eat it. Still no go.

It was only with the idea of missing out on dessert (ice cream and jelly), that they thought that it might be an idea to eat a little of the dinner. We said that if they make an effort and have some more then they can get desert. It was not a great effort but both girls had more than they would have. So they ended up with desert, although the downed the ice cream very quickly and left the jelly.

After dinner, the girls got up on a raised area that they call the stage and gave us all a performance. It was a very interesting show indeed, we had performances from Chuggington, Angelina Ballerina, and the girls did some dancing. I asked the girls if they can share some of their songs with us and they stood on the stage and sung us all the songs they knew, even one that a boy at school taught them which has a funny ending. They are such little performers; they even sold tickets and were setting up the props for the show.  This was not the first time we had a show on this stage, last time the girls were there they did a playschool show, it was mostly singing into pretend microphones.

I must say they are very creative; it makes us all think they are going to be in the theatre or something similar.  Who knows, it is probably just the age they are. Does your child perform for guests or you? Everything is so detailed with the girls, they have stories for everything, what about your child?
