Snow Time in the Garden is an event for the July school holidays run by the Hunter Valley Gardens, the event is on from 25 June – 24 July, 2022.

You can do the following:

  • Ice Toboggan – Grab a tube and glide down the 45-meter slide, it’s sure to get your adrenaline pumping, and once won’t be enough!
  • Ice Skating – Children under 120cm can enjoy a smaller skating rink to build their confidence, and for our more experienced guests we have a larger rink to enjoy. Collect your session ticket, grab your skates and helmet and get skating!
  • Amazing rides – Teacup, Swing Chair, Carousel, Ferris wheel, and the super slide. Height and age restrictions apply. Rides operate from 9:30am – 4:30pm.
  • Food & Beverages – Snow Time Cafe and various food trucks

The Hunter Valley is an easy two-hour drive from Sydney and is the perfect school holiday activity for both the adventurous and more relaxed members of the family. It is the perfect place for a quick weekend getaway or a longer adventure during the school holidays.

Amanda Andrews, Event Manager at Hunter Valley Gardens said: “We are thrilled to have Snow Time in the Gardens back this year. After last year’s Covid lockdown impacted our Sydney visitors, we have prepared the perfect winter spectacle for families to enjoy. This event is a more immersive experience than ever, with a range of activities for young and young-hearted, including the bobby seals for junior skaters (6 & under) and Snow Play Zone, guests will feel truly transported to the Antarctic.

She continued, “This event is an easy day out for families during the school holidays, that provides
unlimited fun and memories to last a lifetime, especially for the little ones who haven’t seen snow
before!”

Activities will operate daily from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm from 25th June to 24th July 2022.

Our kids seeing snow would be a Winters dream (and stop them making pretend with anything white in my kitchen like flour and cream!!!) 🤣 This Hunter Valley magic event would be the perfect excuse, for a fun filled family Winter outing for Snow in The Gardens, with rides, delicious food, jackets and boots!

With a five year old and 2 year old twins, it might be some time before we see real snow and this would be a most fun and adventurous expedition for the family and not far from home.

Like a lot of people, I haven’t been to Hunter Valley Gardens for years, but it’s always a good time! Thanks for the opportunity to spoil my boys with an Antarctic adventure.

I would love to take my two little ones to see Snow time in the garden because I want to see the joy they will get in their lil faces seeing all the snow. They missed out a lot from lockdown last year so I want them to experience as much as possible now. My eldest daughter has seen snow but my son hasn’t and it would be the best experience for us as a family. The Hunter valley would just be beautiful at this time of the year ☃️💙

I took my sons 4 years ago and we went on the ice skating rink. I totally embarrassed myself (and the kids) by screaming and hanging onto the side for dear life and I had to be rescued by a worker. I think I need to redeem myself. The kids still won’t think I’m cool and I’d still be a total embarrassment, but I might actually leave the rink entrance this time.

Oooh, it’s been a while between visits to HVG. I’ve taken the kids to see the Christmas lights a couple of times – they are spectacular. Would be amazing to visit during Snow Time in the Garden!

I’d love to take my children to see the snow because they’ve been begging to see snow for years (never seen it before). I think the activities at HVG sound fantastic and the kids would love the rides, really enjoy ice skating and having a go on the super fast ice toboggan (I want a go too!!!)

This is such an great way to keep families entertained during Winter. For so many kids it’s their first chance to see snow and ice skate. My kids would be so excited by the idea of snow and ice and in particular, the chance to build a snowman!!!

I’d love to take my family to the snow in order to experience a winter wonderland and have a memorable winter after the previous few years where covid has placed a dampen on the frostiness of winter.
