Wrong Side of the Bed?

by

Why is it that some mornings as soon as the kids get up they are fighting and everything is a problem! I have had one of those days today. No one listening, being naughty and then just being plain horrible.

I managed to live through this and get both kids and myself organised to leave the house to go to playgroup, if it was not for me needing to go to the post office I might have left playgroup today as kids were not deserving it at all.

It was not even 9am this morning and I was already over the day, and pinning for bedtime! Why oh why can’t the girls be nice to each other! One wanted to build a cubby house in the living room and was insistent on how she was building it. I was telling her that it would not work as she had a wooden board and every time she attempted to get underneath it fell down. No matter how she tried it kept on doing the same thing. The other child was upset that her sister would not allow her to join in so she was making her cubby house on the lounge.

The girl who was making hers on the lounge ended up getting the sister who did not want to help to help her. Then it was chaos. Also previous to the cubby building today they were at each other like they have had no sleep.

Do you have days like this? Your kids are at each other although they have just gotten up. In my opinion they should be rested and happy about the day, but I know everyone has moody days and feels differently. It is very hard to maintain your up beat nature or happy mummy vibe if each moment you turn around a kid is hurting the other. Oh the day I have had.

Currently the twins are watching Rango and are very quiet. Both girls are cuddled next to each other and have not heard a peep out of them since I put it on. So well done mummy for that small win.

I do try and separate the girls so they can do different things rather than be so caught up with the others activity. However it does get hard with limited space in a small house and of course the fact that they want to be together.

What do you do to stop squabbles with your kids? Send in your comments.

My two boys have been at each other since my oldest got out of school for the summer. While they aren’t twins, they are both boys and close enough in age that they seem to instigate each other the same way. Yesterday when my husband came home I was just done and ready for a nap 🙂

Sorry to hear that you are going through the same thing. However I am glad it is not just happening to me. I love them but they certainly know how to push your buttons.
