WIN: A Maggie Beer Prize Pack

by

As some of you might already know, I am pregnant.  Other than the standard things that annoy other pregnant ladies, like nausea and feeling super exhausted; one big annoyance has been not having much choice in the drink department.

I of course have not had wine well before I was pregnant and during. So when the hubby reaches for a glass of red or say a refreshing glass of cider or beer, I of course cannot. Pity hubby has not abstained like I have to…wish he would do it in solidarity with me. Did your partner give up beer or wine when you were pregnant?

My drink of choice lately has been water, non-alcoholic cider (that actually does not taste the same and that is probably all due to being pregnant) or mineral water with a touch of lemon/lime juice in it to give it some extra flavour. Sounds very boring doesn’t it!

2 lucky readers have the chance to win a fabulous prize pack of the all the non-alcoholic goodies that I have loved lately.

You cannot believe how happy I was to discover that there is a bottle of Sparkling Ruby Cabernet or Sparkling Chardonnay that I can drink! Yes it is true!

Maggie Beer has a great range that is non-alcoholic, tastes great and does not make you feel like you are missing out at all.

My favourite is the Sparking Ruby Cabernet and I must get some more. Have you tried Maggie Beer’s range of non-alcoholic wine? It is perfect if you are pregnant, or just don’t wish to drink alcohol and fancy a lighter option.

Love Maggie Beer's Sparkling Ruby Cabernet. I was celebrating the start of our renovations that have since finished. It was great to open a bottle to mark the occasion.

If you would like to do more with your non-alcoholic wine, Maggie has some fab looking recipes on her website. Why not try Sparkling Ruby Cabernet Spritzer or Sparkling Ruby Jelly with Roasted Rhubarb.  These all sound and look so very yummy!

If you have not tried Maggie’s non-alcoholic range give it a go. I am sure you will love it as much as I do.  It is nice to have something that I can drink other than water or tea.

Are you pregnant and in the same boat? Been sipping on water and so over it! Well I hear you and I understand. I hope that this gives you an alternative and allows you to join in with the hubby or mates that are having a beer or a wine with dinner.

Good luck to all that enter and keen to learn about what products you have been enjoying while pregnant. Maybe I can get some more tips and ideas.

Before I reveal this bombshell I would like to declare…I no longer drink alcohol. And I am Irish ( this is technically not racist as I am actually Irish) . But I drank Guinness while pregnant, 2 glasses in nine months…
I have always been anemic (did I mention I’m Irish) pale and sickly. No matter how much Iron I was given my body would not absorb it.
So twice on the QT when my Mum and Hubby were out of sight ..my dad would give me a bottle of Guinness to drink. “it will put hairs on your chest, better than a steak!!! he would say.
Ironically my father is actually a Pioneer “never touch a drop myself will be on his grave.
