This Wednesday I was lucky to be invited to a VIP event. Yes how wonderful you say! Well I thought so too. It was a rare treat to go to the city and be kid free. Yes I said kid free! This is a nice and major part of the relaxation for the night.
So what was this VIP event and did I and my guest who was also my hubby have fun? The VIP event was a snazzy event by Kleenex to share the spotlight for their new TV commercial but to also share the softness with family and friends. While at the event everyone was asked to write something nice on a piece of tissue paper and put it on the wall of softness or love and caring for us all to see. The thoughts were to be nicer to each other and to not take people for granted, those are the ones that I was lucky enough to read.
The event was held at the MCA and it was a nice evening, not too hot or cold. It was raining that day but were lucky to not have the rain at the times that we were walking without cover. I was very lucky as my train to get to the city was delayed for over 40min due to a broken down freight train which had made all the timetables run late. I was pleased that it did not cause an issue with getting to the event on time.
Hubby and I had nice nibbles with champagne and listened to some lovely music by Mary Kiani, and little did I know that we were going to receive a goody bag with her CD in it, not an old one, her new album so that is good for the fans.
When we left the event we were presented with our bag of booty and since we got a bag each I have a CD to giveaway. The CD is called “Little Things Mean A Lot”, and according to Mary Kiani’s website it is described as such:
“A collection of torch songs, jazz and classic standards from her latest album Little Things Mean A Lot. It includes songs from the 1930’s through to the present day.
Tracks on the album include It Ain’t Necessarily So, Good Morning Heartache, Sunny, Little Things Mean a Lot, At Last, Sunny, (You make me feel like) a Natural Woman, My Funny Valentine, My Baby Just Cares For Me, All of Me, That Old Black Magic, Georgia on My Mind, Apartment, (a song written by Rufus Wainwright for Shirley Bassey in 2009) and Feelin’ Good. All songs on the album were made famous by legends like Etta James, Billie Holliday, Aretha Franklin, Kitty Kalen, Nina Simone, Judy Garland, Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney amongst others.
The album also features special guest, theatre star, Michael Cormick performing a duet with Mary of the Garland/Streisand classic from the 60’s – Get Happy & Happy Days Are Here Again.”
Since the Kleenex event was about being kind to people this giveaway is aimed at how would you improve or help your partner? The most creative answer will win. The giveaway will run two weeks and will end at midnight on the 19th of April 2013, EST (Australian non daylight savings time.) So get creative and submit your responses, I cannot wait to start reading them.
