That the ‘hero’ of the story is an ordinary bloke and the songs throughout keep you singing them long after leaving the cinema

It would have to be the catchy songs that get stuck in your head for days and days and days after you have seen the movie!

While “The Lego Movie” may have a pretty basic story, its beautifully animated world and talented vocal cast give it enough depth to provide lots of fun and excitement.

What’s so AWESOME about The LEGO Movie is everything, but number 1, the fact that I’m not picking the pieces up off the floor. Can you just imagine if the action was live in your living room? A kazillion pieces to tidy up.

Kazillion & AWESOME go hand in hand with LEGO you know!!!

I haven’t seen the movie but SOO want to win this for us to watch at home. I watched a documentary that said the movie was made by Australians and it was based on watching a young boy play with his Lego. The simplest of inspiration can create an amazing movie. 🙂

Surprisingly we didn’t make it to the movie to get to see it, but we absolutely love, love Lego. I would love to win this for my son and daughter. I would most likely tuck it away for their birthdays which are right around the corner. Thanks for the chance!

the story of the boy and son, was like watching my husband with my boy – the lego control freak while my son is a master builder

  • S Armstrong
    July 6, 2014

Adults and children can relate to the movie. I for one am not a master builder and even when I was younger created things like Emmett’s double decker couch. Loved Batman and how he was so dark and brooding.

    July 6, 2014

What’s awesome about it is that it’s the only film my 6-yr-old daughter wants to see! She was sick while it was showing in the cinemas, much to her disappointment, so we plan to see it on DVD soon.

The most awesome thing about “The Lego Movie” is knowing that once I slip it into the DVD player, my wife and I have got approximately 100 minutes of respite from our two sweet little cherubs, and their attempts to annoy/harrass/injure/kill (well, maybe not that last one…) each other 🙂

The original, resourceful and creative ideas that are a spin off from the movie! My kids have delighted in making double decker couches, batmobiles of varying shapes and sizes and a safe house to protect Emmet and his friends! I have also become “imaginative mummy” by cutting fruit into “Lego” shapes.

It has something for everyone. My son loved Batman. My daughter loved Uni Kitty, and for me i grew up playing Lego Space so Benny was something i played with all the time and even had one in a box at home. Needless to say, the Benny now sits in my sons room.

This movie is AWESOME, one cannot deny
That anything is achievable, you just have to try
This message is important for kids big and small
That you can do anything, just give it your all.

  • We loved the movie last night,
In a special date night with the teen
We laughed and sang and nodded along,
Until we came to “that” scene.
Hubby and I sucked in our breath,
We protect our worlds all the time!
    Don’t play with my Lego,
    I built it, it’s mine!
    Guilty we are,
    And its not really fair
    Thanks Lego Movie,
    We now promise to share

While the world at the moment is a pretty sad place, there are still things that make us smile and The Lego Movie is one of them. It takes the whole family away from the bad things happening in the world and absorbs you in the wonderful world of Lego, hope and friendship. No other toy is as special as Lego 🙂

    July 21, 2014

Besides the catchy songs and catchphrases which are regularly used in our house (Gooodddd Morning World! as we open the door) the fact that the movie is about team work, and more importantly not being afraid to be be different from everyone else and have big ambitions/goals to aspire too – a great message for kids of all ages – and adults too!

  • Samantha Mullins
    July 23, 2014

It show us that it is ok to do as the instructions say sometimes, being different is great but doing it the right way first, then get creative and make bunk couches if you like.

There once was a Princess Uniktty,
Who was really adorable and pretty.
When she’s angry she turns red,
And fills Lord Business’s minions with dread,
And takes on his robots without pity.

    She rocks!

What I liked about the Lego movie was it could be watched by the whole family and ENJOYED by the whole family 🙂 There was also a great message about being an individual, not to be scared to try something new. It is a good message for children who feel peer pressured into conforming.

I love how in the movie the Lego World is affected by the humans who play with them. So clever and creative and exactly how I would teach my kids to use Lego. Throw out the instruction books and become Master Builders!!! GO UNI-KITTY!!!
